Variable regulator LM317

LM317 is the reference of a three-pin linear voltage regulator. It is a positive voltage regulator whose output voltage can be adjusted between 1.25 V and 37 V. The typical current is about 1.5 A but this can vary depending on the model. The variable output voltage can be realized by means of a potentiometer, it is also possible to apply a variable voltage from another source to the control terminal. The LM317 is also protected to prevent the output current from exceeding the rated current or if overheating occurs.
